electrical and ignition Tap-A-Lite Alternatives?

I got my hands on some front euro turn signals  . Everyone says to use the tap-a-lite kit from Uhaul for the extra light bulb needed, but they are NLA. Are there any other easy alternatives to the tap-a-lite before I "get creative"?

I'm pretty sure I have a new set I bought a few months ago. I can send them over at cost if you'd like.

I used a 2-filament bulb, and soldered pigtails to each of the solder "bumps" on the base of the bulb. Hooked the running light wire to the dimmer filament, and turn signal wire to the brighter one. You could reverse this if you desire.

i found my tap lite at NAPA. It was about two years ago but i think they still have them. Even A boat supply place might have them?

I used something similar to this:

It uses an 1157, for separate turn and marker.

 

some 22 gauge steel, 1 inch wide, bent (using the original piece), trimmed the ends, painted, done.

I did a Roundel column on adaptng Euro turn signal lenses to work with US style bulbs that involves swapping the bulb holder from a US style turn signal assembly onto your Euro lens assembly.  If you can't find the writeup on the FAQ, drop me an e-mail with your e-mail address and I'll send you a copy of the column.

So I ended up just soldering on the pigtails to 1157 bulbs and grinding off the higher locating tab. Works great! Thanks peoples!
