Can someone give me the rundown on breaking rear stub axles?

I hear that that is what breaks when a lot of power is run, like 300+ hp. Does anyone know the material used, and what people raplace them with for the high HP allpications? I am looking at just making a few sets, out of really strong material and correctly hardening them, but this is a long process and I do not want to waste my time and money if there is an easy way.

Hello there, it's Coop...

I posted many months ago about a group order on aircraft quality billet stub axles. I have been in touch with the company that built them for Ireland Engineering many years ago (Jeff Ireland gave me their information) and they amazingly still had all the information on file. If I can get 10 orders, then I can get us an amazing deal (I have had several conversations with the shop)...So far, I have 4 orders confirmed, including myself. FYI, these guys have been in business for decades and are considered the best when it comes to axles and the like. The company is called Summers Brothers in Ontario, CA.
