Anyone else frustrated with Bimmerparts.com/Zygmunt?

I am so frustrated with them right now! My frustration has been building for about 3 weeks. I appreciate the chance to vent.

I bought a turbo muffler set for my 72 2002 the day after I put in a bid on Ebay for one of their Ansa muffler sets. I asked them for permission to retract my bid. No response. I asked them to cancel my bid -- no response. So, I won the auction when nobody else bid. I did the only right thing - the ethical thing - and completed the transaction that ended on Sept-09.

I paid for the item very quickly and asked them to ship it quickly since the car would be in the shop.

After I sent them 5 emails to get shipment status, I finally got a cryptic note last Thursday that said it needs to be delivered out of the warehouse. The email said the muffler should ship on Monday. It's now Wed night and they still have not contacted me.

I have referred people to them in the past (a lot of them) and been a good customer. I certainly don't deserve this treatment.

As far as I am concerned, I only have to cost them about $175-200 in business for this posting to be worthwhile. I am not asking you to avoid them forever, just 3-5 deals worth $200. Here is my thinking:

- They could have cancelled the bid and kept me as a customer. They chose to make me buy it and that cost them my business... forever. I will never buy a single item from them ever again. I have informed my mechanic that I never want him to buy something from them for any of my cars.

- Since they will make some profit on this deal, I would like to demonstrate how their actions will cost them at least this profit... if not more. They could have shipped it to me for free (although I would have preferred they just cancel the deal) for the $200 I will cost them in business. See... my silence could have been bought.

If you want one of those Ansa systems, then I will sell you the one I bought... if I ever receive the stupid thing.

when I was too fast to the gun and bid on something that didn't fit my application. Of course, that's beside the point. I have won a couple of his auctions, I agree that there is some confusion with the shipping dept. They once said that they will ship my Bilstein struts the following week due to backorder..cool. Well, a couple days later it shows up in the mail, so they did ship it out prior...I was crossing my fingers that another set would arrive the following week, and someone would drop the ball and I would be "stuck" with 2 sets..haha wishful thinking.

if it is that company, i am disappointed with the Zygmut, crap new website/affilliation. I hope it is not that company. Asto Zygmut crapmut: I wont buy from them. I used to buy from the comany named in the subject line. I liked those guys. Sorry you are going through this. You should try to get a letter through to a high level person there. otherwise, i will join your boycott. Also: is there any way to talk/write to a human at Ebay? The website seems to ne constructed to drive a person nuts so they will not pursue the problem they have incurred.

Zygmunt's URL is bimmerparts.com. Bimmerparts, the father and son deal in Pottstown PA is partsbmw.com - there still the same, never had any problems with them. I've never dealt with Zygmunt.

...I am thinking about filing a complaint with Ebay. The negative feedback won't have the same impact as complaining about them advertising a product that they can't deliver. I think the official policy on Ebay is the Seller has 30 days to ship the product. So, they still have a couple of weeks.

I grew up two miles from the shop. Zygmunt and his son Chris are very good people and have helped me in many ways. I am sorry to hear that people have had bad dealings with them, but that is bound to happen in any business.

I would also be angry, and don't blame you for being so. But I had to give my props to Zygmunts for the advice and help that he has given me over the years.

FWIW, his son Chris is handling the eBay stuff. Again, a great guy, but I guess nobody is perfect.

That's my .02 cents worth.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
