Yeah, I know. Hope springs eternal and you can ask what

you want but $16,999.00 for a Tii? That needs cosmetic

repair?? That has holes cut in the door panels??? That is not

even close to original????!!!! Add to that my pet peeve of "It's

got no reserve!" Yeah, but the bidding starts at a crazy price.

Isn't that basically a stated reserve? This is no one here

right? Please tell me it isn't.

It is very simple. Tells the wife/husband/whatever (who has been bugging him for months to get rid of it) that he'll only sell it if he gets what it is worth. Passive resistance. Haven't we had this conversation beore?

more money?Do tarnished vent control panels cost more? There must be more " value adding" aspects to this tii that i missed, or cannot see from the pictures, that make $16.9 a bargain beginning price. I am worried: if this car cannot make 16.9, what does that do to the value of rust free, sparkling trim, newly powered tiis? Might as well just take California's offer of $500 to crush my "old car for the sake of the air and the children". But, if i can buy a "whale tail", ....

and there i was thinking about go fast-er Porsche aero stuff: I know in the UK they pay thousands of Pounds Sterling for certain plate number/letter combos. Maybe that is what has pushed this tii into Turbo price country. It all makes sense to me now... the Bridge has to be part of the deal- but, I think shipping and handling on the Bridge might be a bit rough .

When did 72 tiis come original with those seats and that strut bar? Is the 5sp the original CR option or a 320 5sp?

I'm sure there are tii experts who would find more wrong with this 'restoration', but those were the glaring ones I saw.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
