Well all my training is complete. I put in 70 hours of work in 4 days and endured 9 inoculations, but I'm ready to go. I should have left last Thursday, but there is a shortage of space in Kuwait for all the in flux of people. My departure has been delayed for 2 weeks. My company will be sending me Ft Mead, MD for those two weeks. It's an old 40mm grenade range that needs to be cleared. I'm now scheduled to depart for Iraq on Oct 4th.

Phil, kudos to you as an '02 guy...But I for one am not impressed by any chest beating about going over to Iraq to "blow something up" as one of the brain-dead A-Holes on this board was...

Enough useless and sensless killing...Condemn the criminal invasion of Iraq! Here's a little perspective for you:

-Approximately 3500 innocent people were killed 9/11

-According to independent Red Cross sources, over 11,000 innocent Iraqis have been killed by the U.S. invasion of their country.

A HUMAN LIFE IS A HUMAN LIFE, AMERICAN OR IRAQUI!!!

I am not a moderator and have no authority here; this is my own personal statement:

You have an opinion. Good for you. I have one too. You chose to share said opinion, which some may see as inflamatory and/or objectionable, in a public forum dedicated to a completely unrelated topic. Personally, I don't care what your opinion is, nor do many others here, I imagine. So talk about 2002's or shut the hell up.

ya know.. I love posts like these.. it amazes me that people would actually thing someone gave a crap about his/her ideals on a bmw car forum.. the "caps" really sets it off.. after reading the get rid of bush now post I agree my entire whole political spectrum has been altered thanks to your wisdom.. I agree the most stable course of action right now for this country is to get rid of is public leader and change him out for someone else.. oh yeah great idea :)

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
