i kmow that the opening is nerow, i will do some modifications there, but the hight with tanks is more then 19". I will doublecheck tonight. The problemthat i forsee is the width. I cannot remember what it is on standard '02 radiator. And the tanks here are 3".

if you really want that rad. you could go with a 1600 4 blade fan that is smaller and yields more space , or go without fan altogether, and just put in a honkin' aux fan. i can go downstairs and measure the distance between the 3 row turbo and my fan tip if you need it. i am running a 5 blade on the inka , 4 blade on the sahara. i like that rad. you are interested in. how much? how much increase in cooling capacity?

it looks like those rads go for about $170. The depth is what i was looking for. And i am already running an electric fan only. But a nice size radiator should be nice. They are saying that 2 row aluminum is as good as 5 row brass. Plus it is a bit bigger then the regular '02 radiator, so it should work even better.

The 19 inch height will work. The 2 inch thickness will work too. But the width is too much. It will require too cut the air snorkel on the passenger side to fit the tank if you want the core to align with the opening in the nose. Also you will have to bolt two rubber grommets at the base of the core support to keep the rad in place (like the e30 does) and C chanels on top.

It will work though. They specify that the water connection measure 1 inch in diameter. My guess is that you will have to cut them out and weld some proper 1.25 inch connections instead. Anyway $169 + $20 shipping is worth the try... It can even be modified to be a double pass rad by moving the upper hose connection to the driver side and by welding a baffle midway between the top and bottom in the right hand tank. This way, the hot water will pass once from right to left and then

will pass a second time in the lower half from left to right up to the lower hose connection...

they actually sell a doublepass radiators too. I think the price is about the same. The will require sending the water from the engine to the passanger side instead of drivers. also a possibility. i do know that i'll need to remove somoe body work, but it doesn't look to bee too major. They also have mounting brakets for these radiators, but they look very simple to fabricate on your own. so i might just do that.

it's the 3" tank that might cause a problem.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
