This invitation is for any '02 owner (E21 and E9 3.0 Coupes also welcome) in the vicinity of Toronto, Ontario (Buffalo, NY State, Detroit, Michigan State, Ottawa, Montreal, London, Windsor) to come to the 3rd annual Toronto 02 Meet, Tour and Picnic/BBQ. Thet tour will include a stop at Markus Glarner Motors and meet the man himself Markus, a famous bmw race car tuner known in the USA and Canada. Plus you get to see all the rare BMW race cars.

Tour starts at 1:00 PM.

Highlights of the meet:

The tour/drive will around Durham region's winding back country roads and one helluva corkscrew which will test the limits of your driving skill and your car's handling and brakes.

The first stop will be at Markus Glarner Motors where you will meet in person Markus himself and get a chance to talk to him, ask him questions and maybe he will show a few '02 maintenance stuff. Take pictures of his race cars and other BMW race cars, like an ex PTG e36 M3 race car, a schnitzer '02 and csl, M1 procars, a factory 3.5 csl race car, etc...

BTW he sells at a reasonable price new and used parts for '02's e21, CS, etc..

The next stop will be at BMW of Canada HQ in Whitby for a group shot maybe see some new BMW's and a Mini Cooper S race car which I saw at the back a few days ago.

Then we will proceed to Heydenshore Park also in Whitby for the picnic and BBQ, you are welcome to bring you own food and soft drinks, we will provide food too, burgers, hot dogs, soda pop. Then maybe more group pics.

If you are coming please let us know and as much as possible get there at before the start of the tour as you do not want to miss going to Markus' shop.

If you are running late or will be late, you can either meet us at any of the three stops of the tour.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,
