Gents, I have to get rid of my '75 2002. It is a sad, sad day here.... I will be transferring from Northern Virginia in about a month, and I will not be able to take my '02 with me. This is probably for the best, as I will not be able to devote enough time to finishing what I started in the next three years. Here's a run-down of what I've done.. and what it still needs.

3-angle valve job, replaced guides etc.. Ireland 292 cam dual weber 45DCOE (extra chokes and jets) TEP header Pertronix 5-speed (rear tranny seal needs replacement... I have one) Refreshed bottom end of engine 7 months ago - honed the cylinders - deves rings - changed all gaskets etc.. KYB shocks Ireland Springs (not installed) (no emissions on it... anywhere!)

It needs: 1 - a better paint job than the one I did 2 - pass side floor pan 3 - spare tire well 4 - gas tank 5 - Drivers seat (there is a Recaro on the driver's side right now) 6 - Console 7 - Speedo cable I am also including 1 - set of doors 3 - sets of rear and rear side glass 2 - sets of big bumpers 1 - E12 head 1 - pair of Del'orto DHLA40 carbs I'm asking $1500 for the car and everything else I have.

E-mail me at mousavimarine@yahoo.com.

Semper Fi, Adnan M.

Hey man, I have been out to sea on a Med cruise for the last 3 months. So far I have only seen two '02s since I left, both were in Greece. I miss my car. When are you leaving?

that I'll be heading to Corpus (won't pass the Texas emissions inspection - no smog equipment [base requirement]) for Primary, after Pensacola, and I really won't have the time to devote to the car. Plus my wife won't drive it, yet! How's the float going?

Semper Fi,

Adnan

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
