These are 14 x 6 Panasports. The offset would be better for an early 320, but they only rub the inner fender wells on tight left turns. This car had Alpina copy 15 x 7 before I got it and the fenders have been worked over pretty well to maximize clearance. They wouldn't fit without that. One of PO's mods that actually helps!

Tires are Yokohama A509 195/60-14. They're going to get replaced before winter with either Yokohama Avid A4 185/65-14 or there's a Sumitomo SRIXON4 coming in October in that size. Any recommendations?

Looks great! Whats the offset? I have a new set of revolution 4 spokes with an offset of 18 and I am wondering how they are gonna fit. You could get the front struts bent and that would change the ofset -5 to 6mm in addition to doing good things for handling. I have an extra set of struts that I might do that to. Lookin good!

how is that done? I Know if happens on a collision

we just throw them away and get new ones. Also

isn't the position of the wheel pretty much fixed by

the lower control arm, the radius arm and the top of

the strut tower? Can some one educate me??

TIA

I want to know more about it as well. I imagine the bend occurs at the bottom of the strut tube. To me it seems that it would weaken the tube? Ireland does this work for a modest fee but I am in Japan so shipping would kill.

Springs are unknown, they came with the car. Bilstein Sports for shocks.

Unfortunately, for a guy who has to ferry kids around town this car is too low (my poor exhaust!). Get 2 or 3 teenagers in there and there isn't a speed bump it'll clear, and they're usually coming or going to school when I'm playing taxi.

I don't know the offset. I went to Sherman Martinez and he let me "try them on" before commiting cash and that was that. Once they were on and all was well, there was no way I was gonna take 'em back off.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
