As you may have read #4 has an oil problem (most likely a bad valve seal) I switched in new plug about a mile before I got there. I also leaned it out as much as possible- even had some detonation at higher RPMs- so I kept it low. I hope can slip through- after I get the car back the head is coming off to have a looksie. Most likely I will send the head back the States and have it rebuilt- again. All I can figure is that the guys rebuilding it tore the seal up sliding it down the stem. Sometimes after I shut off the car the plug is wet and sometimes it isn't. I am guessing that what is happening is that if the offending valve is open oil is running down into the cylinder and if it is shut- no problem. The bottom end has maybe 9000 miles and when I just had the head off the walls look fabulous- crosshatching still there and no scuffs. Any ideas about this?

pulling the head. I'd wager 90% of my smoke (on the overrun only) is due to 30 year old stem seals, as the engine runs great and doesn't smoke any other time... any clever ideas?
