As part of my driveshaft rebuild/reinstall, I planned to put in all new hardware.  The $8+/per bolt on the 8 flexjoint bolts caused me to consider reusing the old ones.  But luckily, I found a seller on ebay selling the bmw-spec bolts (by verbus) for $2.99 each plus free shipping.  Bought a couple to check them out and now ordered the remaining.

It does look like that.  That's why i only ordered a couple at first.  The ones I got were new.  So took a risk on 6 more.  .


IE does sell a whole kit for $16 -- though the bolts don't look like oem spec as the shoulder is shorter with more threads.  In the oem design the guibo and the flange sit on the shoulder mainly with the threads only protruding out back.  But perhaps these work just as well anyway.

Yes, all good sources of std metric hardware.  None carry this specific OEM spec (61mm length, with the right shoulder length).  The OEM spec bolts all appear to be in the $8+/per range - if one was fussy about OEM spec.


No need to be fussy for any strength reasons, the std size 10.9's have proven themselves over and over.

Shoulder length does not matter as shoulder isn´t really involved in a screw connection. Neither guibo nor flanges do really touch the shoulder, only compression joint (is that right in english?) between screw head, nut and things in between.


Repair guide says 6,4 to 7,1kpm thightening torque wich equals 63 to 69Nm. With that for thread M10 a 10.9 screw is enough. Take standard 60mm length, missing 1mm will not matter (and that is the only thing that is special for the BMW original screws).
