electrical and ignition Trailer Lighting On My Tii

I am looking to wire in a 3rd brake light on the bumper. Other threads I've seen have not mentioned this, but the driver's side (LHD) tail light has dual wires going to the brake and reverse lights, where the passenger side has only one each. Are those intended as power sources for trailer/accessory lights, and is there any reason *not* to use the surplus brake light wire for my brake light? Or did I misread the wiring diagram in my owner's manual, and the lights are wired in series, with power going to the driver's side brake light first and then out from there to the passenger side light terminal?

 

The car doesn't appear to be pre-wired for a rear foglight, even though it's a German market car.

It's the latter.

the latter, sort of. iirc they are in parrellel, not series. just use a tap on the wire to the brake lights for the third light. this is the normal way it gets done.
