A few from over the weekend. Got some rubber on the 13x7 Ronal Kleeblatts and then installed ‘em up front. I still have to buy tires for the 13x8 rear wheels.

Three of us 02ers made the 70mile round trip to Tatton Park classic car show on Saturday (south of Manchester). We met up with Anders who took his gorgeous V6 Reliant Scimitar to join in the fun to what was a great day. There was some American Muscle too. I had the pleasure of following a mint looking red Testarossa through the back roads on the way home ?

Andy, that's a weirdly cool collection of weird cars.

Up from the US cars there’s a

Reliant Scimitar

Honda Civic

Lancia Fulva

Ginetta G15 I think

Renault 5 Turbo

Renault Alpine

Renault R17

Alpine Tiger

Triumph Dolomite Sprint

Dolly Sprint, always wanted one in the U.K, nice cars badly executed like the Stag from the factory.

love the Rubinrot or Gunatrot (bad spelling I know) 02 next to your lovely car, and an N reg just like mine of the same colour, was hoping it was my old one restored..... but wrong rego I owned HVP92N, 2 numbers out from the lovely Golf HVP90N that graces the cover of many mags, Peter Blevins (?) car.

Sorry rambling, thanks for the pictures Andy.

Sorry for talking your ear off,  I haven't had much time with my fellow 02'ers in too long.  I have to say you have such a beautiful well thought out and executed roundie.  The details are simply insane.

I have some other pics from that meet that I will post under Off Topic - Off Topic Discussion.

Mike first thank you for the kind words. It was a real treat to meet and talk about the common problems when taking on large scale projects. I look forward to seeing you car once you get it sorted out soon I hope.

Regards....Mike

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
