body and interior "kit Car" 1600 Rebody ??

Assuming one had a 67 1600 with a hot 2 dellOrto 2 liter, dogleg 5 speed and quick steering box with damage to EVERY exterior panel (roof and decks included) but no rust...and you were considering a complete non-BMW rebody with a Devin body or equivalent...would anyone on this forum have useful links or would they all just yell at you? 

 

I have the car and have done equivalent work.

While the idea is intriguing, is it even practically feasible?, I thought the Devin and most such early kit cars were designed for body on frame cars, not unibody designs like the 2002.

No specific info, other than to say, "Go for it."

I'd have an M10-powered garden tractor, if I had the time ... or a farm.

 

There's a fellow, Mark, on the FAQ (look up "pigpen") who has an M10-powered Elva; he was considering making molds. -KB

It's not like I've got an extra 2002 engine and am looking for something else to repower...it's more like I've got a fun car that needs a new suit. I know I can find a donor shell and move everything over but I've kind of "been there, done that." I know I can replace the front and rear panels, decklids and door with fiberglass, mount 4 fatso fenders and some big wheels and go "zumma, zumma" but I did that too and don't need another track car. 

 

Ideas?
