New Owner!

I just bought my self a 75 1502!! It is located in Lebanon my home country and I only visit during summer! If you think that's not crazy enough, I'm in the process of buying a stock 85 318i as a daily (summer) driver too  :D They both poped up for sale at the same time, both very cheap so yeah, I couldn't resist! Oh yeah and I also have an e39 540 there. Why do I need 3 cars in a country that I only visit during summer? Because I live in the worst place on earth to own a classic or to have fun driving cars, Canada. I have an 85 635 here (it's for sale by the way) and I figured that it's just sitting there all winter and during summer I go back to Lebanon anyway. So I decided to sell it and get 2 classic bimmers in my country where parts are cheap, labor is cheap, amazing landscape, no heavy traffic enforcement. Anyway the 1502 was recently restored with the best color IMO, inka orange you call it? Owner says everything is original except the front bumper which I don't really like but he still has the original oem bumper. I will restore it to its original look next summer for sure. I'll post some pics to see what you guys think of the restoration since I have no clue about how it's done. Also some for my other bimmers, if somebody is interested in the 635CSI let me know! It's located in Ottawa Ontario, manual tranny, euro bumpers, original recaros, very nice car over all!
And by the way, this is the best bimmer forum on the net! Really well sorted  :)

I hope Canada is not the WORST country in the world to own a classic car, but I'm sure Lebanon is a wonderful summer-year-round place.  Although today in Vancouver it's -5C and snowing, with plowtrucks out salting the roads.  Oh yeah!, maybe Canada is the worst place to own a classic.  BUT, I can go into the garage and visit my car anytime, day or night.  I would hate to wait til summer to tinker.  :-)

Nice looking cars.  75-1502?  First time I've heard of that model.\

Welcome to the obsession.

Totally agree! I bought the 635CSI basically just to have a bimmer in the garage to look at   The 1502 is quite rare, I didn't know it exists before I saw this one! It has has 75 hp instead of 85 hp so it was probably the cheapest e10 you can buy back in the day, not sure if it was available in NA.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
