30 years active duty, enlisted 1972, paratrooper 101st Abn, 56th FA Bde (Pershing). Commissioned 1980 as an Armor officer attended Flight School 1981 spent the next 26 years flying AH-1F Cobra, UH-1H Huey, CH-47D Chinook, Westland Lynx, and Aerospatiale Gazelle.  Retired in 2004.

I trust you don't mind if I take a moment to remember my Grandfather - "Joe Cool" - who piloted a B25 in the Pacific region in WWII (shown here visiting a restored bomber some years ago). It was his interest in BMW's which, many years later, got me into my first 2002. -KB
