body and interior Passenger Door Lock Cylinder

The damn thing came out with my key. In hand!

What is the easy fix.

If I take the door panel off it would be my

5 th time I take door panels off .

I have 2 2002's and this is a real ball buster .

Do I need a new handle ?

Yeah, you're gonna have to take the door panel off.  If you're lucky, the screw that holds the lock/unlock lever to the back of the lock cylinder has come unscrewed; if you're unlucky, it's broken and you'll need another lock cylinder.  If the latter it's not terribly difficult to make your current key fit the replacement cylinder.  Check RealOEM for an exploded diagram of the handle, and then look down in the bottom of the door for missing pieces; again, if you're lucky none of 'em will have fallen out the drain holes.

 

Post what you find--I did a column some years ago on dismantling/repairing exterior door handles/locks if your fix involves more than simple reassembly.

 

At least you're getting good at r & r-ing door panels!
