body and interior Square Shifter Boot, Pebble Finish Nla?

My square rubber snifter boot has a pretty good-sized tear in it, so I'm looking for a replacement.

Did a search on the FAQ, and the usual suppliers have the smooth replacements, but I'm looking the slight pebble textured boot. Anyone still making it, including BMW?

Did the 73s have the pebble or smooth finish?

 

I know the 72s had the smooth and the e21s had the pebble, but not sure what was in between.

My '73 has its original square boot, and it's smooth rubber.  In fact, I can't remember seeing a 2002 with an original square (or round, for that matter) boot that isn't a smooth rubber...

 

For awhile when the factory boots were NLA someone was offering a shiny vinyl boot with no pleats, but now that the OEM boots are available again, those seem to have disappeared.

My '76 (April '76 manufacture) still has its original boot and it's smooth.

I think that I read the E21's came with the textured boot, so perhaps mine got switched out some time in the past.

Bob was kind enough to hook me up.

Heres a couple of pics of both smooth and textured. The textured(on the right) has BMW 1206 289 molded in on the bottom lip of the boot. I have seen them in e3, e12, and e21, but never in an 02. Personally, i prefer the textured.

Personally, i prefer the textured.

Had one in my '76 - matched the texture of the plastic surround well, I thought.
