Can anyone think of a reason NOT to replace the stock exhaust manifold with a performance header while using the rest of the stock exhaust components? Back pressure at stock tubes etc? I found a used header and wanted to add this in the interim while gathering the rest of the components for a rebuild which will include 2" tubing.

I swapped my stock for one I found fairly cheap... I could feel the torque went down, but the engine flows better at higher speeds. not sure if equates to faster, but it feels more open. Also, when you let off the gas, you don't slow down as fast, if thats something you care about.

 

FYI: I await my exhaust on monday/tuesday, so the rest of it will be upgraded.
