I understand Clay, the handsome lad at the head of the table, ground the beef for the burgers. What a man! He is to burgers what BLUNT is to coffee.

Someone should have called the cops. There was nothing left of this poor car! Check the "FOR SALE" section.

I failed to get a picture of Mina (Grice's wife) together with her E21 parked around the corner.  Hope she found a gas station nearby.

Nice seeing Randy Bryant again - I think he got the long distance award driving his E21.

Lou's Ceylon Roundie got the most attention - by us and all Marc's neighbors.

Thank you, Marc, for being such a gracious host!  I enjoyed the trip up from the Shenandoah Valley to the metro-area.  My first time to Bethesda.

It was great to reunite and visit with other vintage Bimmer owners.  I was happy to see old friends and to make some new friends, too.  I am back on Bill Williams' "A-list", for a while, finally.  Getting to hang with my brother, Cuttie, was great, even though he was styling a Miata.  It was awe inspiring to see Jim and Marshall make quick and efficient work on Marc's E30 suspension upgrade.

What a great day!

Regards,

Randy Bryant

That Amazongrum car has been owned by the present owner since new. I asked about the speakers and he said the speakers were Blaupukts (sp?) like that when he bought if from the dealer. So when he restored it, he found, in his words, "some cheap speakers" that looked like the ones that were in it originally.

In the fourth photo from the top, the owner is the gentleman in the sort of red coat standing by guarding it from Jim G. and Matthew C. oblivious to that monster chasing Clay.

The car is beautiful!

Marc, Thank you for the hospitality, that sauerkraut was amazing.

And I want to thank everyone else there who hepled me with my hood problem.  As the rookie, you guys showed me how tight nit this community really is. I appreciate the warmth you all showed.

And the best part is there weren't that many left over parts.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
