Best Source For "rubber Buffers" For Bumpers?

What do you mean by "best?"  It's a BMW part, so they're all the same unless you find someone reproducing them.  If you mean "best price" then check with the usual suspects - dealer, Blunttech, Maximillian, La Jolla Independent.  getbmwparts.com has them for $20.87 each.

Part Name RUB BUFFER

John:

I should have been more specific.... What I meant was OEM and best price including shipping.

Thanks for all of those sources.  I wasn't aware of getbmwparts.com, which turns out to have the lowest price.

I have a newly triple-chromed bumper and did not want to re-use my original "rubber buffers".

Another day, another part.   :)

I just tried www.parts.com with the part number  51119558125 and it came back with "part was not found".  Their listed catalog only goes back to 1984 for BMW.  Same as Maximilian but Maximilian has an "archive" BMW section for models older than 1984 IIRC.

I will keep www.parts.com as another possible source, as they may have other parts that might come up.

Regards, Maurice.

Interesting.  I purchased several components for my 73 wiper system along with a new antenna a few years ago.  I first tried using the "select by year" feature but ended up searching by part number.  It is a very basic way to buy parts - you must know the correct part numbers.

Must be a glitch for the rubber buffers part number.  I need other parts for my newly-chromed bumpers.

I just tried a search for the "synthetic strips" (small grey rubber/vinyl molding between bumper overrider and bumper), part number 51111816063 and it came up as available, with a decent price compared to other sites.

Thanks again for an additional resource.

You're welcome. Just don't forget the wonderful resources of folks like Steve Peterson (BLUNT), Carl and Ben @ LaJolla,  Jeremy and Andrew @ I.E. and Rob Torres @ 2002Haus.  Nothing will beat their experience and advice - even if you have to pay a little more for the parts.  Disclaimer - I know I have left out some other companies so please "shop local" if you can.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
