Interior Project - Scope Creep - Speaker Mounts

Project Scope Creep.........

It seems that I need to be forward thinking with my "interior" project and plan for speakers.  I will not be putting speakers back in the doors.  The panels in the link below seem to be a very nice option for front speakers.  I have an old set of speakers in the rear deck, hoping they work.

I've seen 1 set of pictures of these in a car and I'd like to see more if anyone else has these installed.  It looks very clean.  My initial concern is the location.  Might these speakers get kicked?  Any experience would be a great.  Questions:

Ease of installation?

Potential speaker damage due to the location?

Recommended speakers?  Not looking for huge sound and they can't break the bank, 5.25" or 6"

Can't speak to the front kick panel location but I have 4" Kicker DS40 speakers tucked under the dash and except for bass being left wanting (which will generally be the case unless one mounts a subwoofer or back parcel shelf speakers), this has worked well.

I plan to add an under seat subwoofer.

+1 on the kick panel location for front speakers.  The common location for front speakers is the doors or cardboard under dash panels.

Did you ever try to hear (listen closely to) the front speakers in a car with those locations?   The sound will be different when you move your leg (especially when the speakers are in the door panels).  This happens even with later model vehicles.  Larger rear speakers will overpower the smaller front ones (insert the crossover  /  fader / resistor comments).   I can barely hear my front speakers in the tii (mounted under the dash).

It's far from ideal but I find the under dash location surprisingly good all things considered. Mostly just missing bass. The right speakers make a big difference. I find they play quite loud, no leg position problems, but lacking bass. And this with just a Becker Europa 2 head!
