Nice car.

Hand wash only, with as little water as possible. No power washers, they force water where it shouldn't go.

Yeah I'll have to be really careful with water seeping in. Fortunately it's under a covered parking space and will not be see the rain Until I'm %100 sure that nothing leeks in.

Is your car stored in a bubble and used as deco garage art only?

mcguires ultimate detailer is a wonderful thing.  my car might get washed with a hose once a year. in between it is 5min with a spray bottle and a towel.

and the car gets really dirty and covered in splattered bugs at the track regularly.

i started using it on my E36 race car years ago.  no windows that sealed.  using a hose filled the interior with water.

I do the same thing, except I use Mother's California Gold quick detailing spray. When that runs out I got a free bottle of Griot's detailing spray from somewhere. I'm sure it will work great as well. I can have the whole car clean in a matter of minutes in my garage.

i have used the mothers stuff before.  think the mcguires works better.

worst stuff i have used is the groits speed shine.  i had high hopes for it, but it doesn't seem to pick up the dust as well and leaves streaks.

the mcguires quick wax stuff is another 5 minutes well spent after using the detailer stuff.

disclaimer....i am not a q-tipper...car just has to look good at 100/100.  (a 100 feet at a 100mph......)

Griot's Speed shine works well with their clay bar.   I too have had streaking issues when trying to use it as a touch up - had to wash the car!.  Maguire's Quick Detailer works well for me.

ntil we scrape enough for proper paint, I'm not poring over "streaks" in the Maaco paint job.

It POURED in DC area yesterday.

I went out in it, on purpose!

No leaks and plenty of slippery fun.

Bu I have had great luck and results with the Maguires products over the years.

Although, Pro W-41 Yellow Wax....pure carnauba...is my all-time fave! (when the paint is proper)

Ma.jomaa, your car looks 'clean' in that pic above!

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
