racing and safety Track Video From A Different Angle

a friend of mine is into RC helicopters.  She brought one to the track with her last weekend.  it has a lipstick camera on the bottom.  below is video from inside turn one at summit point during one of the sessions i was running on sunday. a bit primative, but kinda cool.  the red M2 goes by a few times.

That's pretty cool. It'd be awesome if you could somehow get one of those to follow you around the track from above.

i should have taken a pic of the acft.  four rotors in a cross, GPS position tracking, auto hover and return to base, downlink for the video so she can see what it is seeing.  pilot is standing next to the Red FRS in the video.

 

maybe i can get her to hover it 10ft above the track at the turn in point next time.  see cars coming directly at the camera braking down from 120-135mph to make the turn!
