Hello,

I need to get my carpet done, and I'm stuck between getting a molded carpet(haven't found where I can get get one with esty's quality) OR get one of esty's carpet kits. Main reason for thinking molded carpet is the car had a molded carpet and wouldn't it be easier to install vs installing multiple pieces? Also if you advise going with a molded carpet do you know where i can get something similar to Esty's quality? your input is greatly appreciated.

this is just my opinion...i'm not trying to sell anything

contrary to what you may think, the cut & sewn sets are much easier to install...the molded sets are heavy and bulky, they are difficult to glue in so there aren't bulges or wrinkles but with great patience and persistence it's a straightforward process...you'll still have to do a lot of trimming and cutting...they don't come with any cutouts and may or may not include a heel pad...odds are that you'll find molded sets only available in the plush type carpet...

personally, i prefer the look & ease of installation of the cut & sewn vs a molded set

I would never go molded carpet...individual piece is the only way to go IMO (iirc 14 pieces).....I used to make my own, so I got real familiar with the process.  It's very logical and simple to install correctly.

Your kits were my first choice, I guess i was just overwhelming my self with the installation process which from what I've been reading is an afternoon job. How much would a salt and pepper kit run me?

I'll sell something.

Esty can provide you with optional, proper sized kick panel area covers that will fit over my speaker kick panels, even if you don't use them now, buying the covers/panels will give you flexibility of adding audio later...

never underestimate how long a job on a 2002 takes.  any carpet install is easily more than an afternoon....and that is assuming that once you pull the old carpet out you don't find something nasty under it that you need to fix... ;)

it is not hard work (i assume you searched and found my faq on how to install an esty carpet kit), it just takes some patience if you want to do it right.

Tell me about it :S, nothing has been easy on this project, the good thing is I've already taken out the old carpet and repaired the floor that had some rust and already cleaned and sound proofed, so it's litteraly just installing the new carpet, non the less I'm sure it will take longer than expected. I did find your installation thread and it'll be next to me when installing the kit.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
