Maximillian who is very accomidating on the phone are the worlds slowest to ship. It has been 7 weeks since my card was charged and today they tell me that my package hasn't gone out yet but should today!!!!! Arggg.

So you $1200 is charged to my Visa and 8-9 weeks later a package shows up!!!!!

it is up to us (the consumer) to get customer service back where it belongs. it's a shitty job, but we all are responsible.

cancel your order. order from another vendor. if it's unavable, cancel your order and tell them you'll contact them in a year or so to see if they have changed there customer service aptitude.

it's pretty cut and dry. when someone takes money from you and you don't get anything in return (but b.s.) it's called stealing.

I ordered a shift linkage update/rebuild kit, and they charged my card July 22, and I still haven't seen it. They sure are the best on the phone, though, Matt knows his stuff.

to cover other orders. I was freaking out at Ireland for about 10days. I use to do shipping we almost always shipped the same day, If we didnt have any item in stock we called back and informed the customer to see what he wanted to do. Shit I got stuff from europe in like a week, from three diferent companies.

the hot tip of the linkage is to make sure you have all your parts first.

mine was 6 weeks to wait, then i didnt' get all the parts....the ONLY reason i knew this was that i went and checked beforehand to make sure, then it was 'oh yeah, well they are coming.' should they have been the ones who told me?

i know that they order the stuff from germany, or that's what they say, but it really is BS sometimes...especially when your trying to work your other weekend projects around getting the fun stuff for your car done.

just keep calling (which i f'n hate, but hey it's my money, i paid for it SHIP IT OUT!!)

what a mess..

Was it a common part, or something unusual? I've been ordering from Max for a few years now, and from what I understand, their system works something like this: you order some weird, low-production Mobile Traditions part that has to be sourced from somewhere in Europe. MT parts are manufactured all over the place. Example: my E9 resonator came from The Czech Republic, the exhaust can from Austria and the pipes from Switzerland. Why? I dunno. Anyway, all this stuff gets shipped to a port in Europe where Max has a container shipped over once a week or so.

If you consider the logistics and how easily (one phone call if you're patient) you can get some otherwise really difficult-to-find stuff, waiting/patience is "the price you pay." I'd consider Max as more of a supplier than a "service." It ain't McDonalds, after all. They run the business on a shoestring, and need the money up front, as most suppliers do.

What I've learned: Max is great for the not-really-too-exotic stuff. When they tell me how long it will take, I generally double that number, and if I don't like it, Walloth und Nesch is my next call.

VW auto parts. He wants the process to be that we download the credit card info and handle it manually instead of the point of sale charging like you can set it up to do. That way, if one of the parts is on backorder you can contact the customer BEFORE charging them. I like his way of thinking, even though it will make the process a little more complicated.

Taking your money and not shipping out when you say you are is just wrong. Bad business practice period.

I have 2 unusual grey market cars (e23 745 & e21

323 Baur) and Max has been a great source for

hard to find items. I don't expect them to stock the

parts in the USA but I know that if it's available they

can get it. It can take a while tho.

They charged my card without asking me if I wanted to wait for 1-2 weeks backorder.

I think it is quite rude to be a merchante and not indicate that something is backordered.

This is of course, just my opinion.

Other than 2 CR synchro sets everything else is very standard:

tii lines, nut and bolts, alloy wheel nuts wheels, intake seals etc.

On july 23 they told me the last few pieces would be here that week and then shipment would be on its way.

I just ordered brake caliper inner and outer seals from a Honda dealer and it is their policy that I pay before they can order the parts. I did not like the idea but I can understand why. It may be that they went through the trouble ordering the part and I changed my mind and not wanting the part. They may be stuck with the unwanted part sitting and collecting dust. Or pay to ship it back?
