progress!! Coming along slowly but surely. Need to finish routing coolant hoses and find a fan that's fits and is worth a dam. Also need to route throttle cable and make brackets. Oh, and I blew up my diff while trying to do a celebratory burnout[emoji28]

I am running a 3.9 diff and it's a little too short.  I am thinking 3.64 or even 3.45.  As it is, the M20 in the E30 runs a 3.73 with taller tires.  A 4.44 will basically eliminate 1st gear.

Yea ,I know its going to be pretty short. I got a good deal on it and figured why not. I would really like to get my hands on a 3.45 but we'll see how everything goes

I'm just going to drive it easily until I get a rear end/diff setup that's proper for the power plant. The CAtuned setup looks really nice!

I've got my downpipes fabbed up and just waiting on a flex pipe, resonator, muffler, and some more 2.5" piping so I can finish up the exhaust. The cooling system is mocked up, everything looks really good! I don't have space behind the rad for a fan, so i'll do what TonyBeemer did, I've got plenty of space in front of the rad.

I need to tidy up the wiring and get the ECU in the glovebox. What is the easiest way to accomplish this? My first thought was a big hole saw but i'm not sure what others have done.

Transmission Tunnel still needs love but I want to drive it first! :)

That one and jakes setup look awesome but they're pricey.we're gonna need pics of exhaust!;) haha. I started cutting a hole in the firewall for the harness to go through. The grommet on the m20 harness is 2inches so I started drilling with a 2 in hole saw. Should fit perfectly because the actual part on the grommet that seals is 2 inches while the rest of it is larger. Haven't actually done it yet but that's the plan

I just started learning MIG welding with my exhaust. It's not pretty for for "stage one" it'll do! Here's my garage currently.. Messy.. Full..2ea4d5d675c63d7cb02380528f48473b.jpg

Cooling the system setup. Need to grab a pipe this weekend for the upper rad hose. It needs a slight "twist" to get it where it needs to go. I'll take better shots this weekend but I figured this would help with your cooling system mockup.

Using a mix and match of early/late model cooling system stuff to get the cooling system situated.

Tony do you happen to know the spal part #? I think I may have the same pusher fan

Luis, the temp sensor is autometer and goes to an autometer gauge to monitor temps closely.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
