I just moved back down to the area! Staying right on Prince Street in Old Town.  I would love to stop by!

The only catch is my 02 is still in storage in NJ.

Can we bring a '12 Abarth as a stand-in?

Shameless plug...

Pete - if you have a wife or GF, tell them to walk to the corner of Prince and Union and stop in my wife's store for some clothes.  No pressure  :D

Sure thing Marshall.  I'm an orange juice guy so i'll grab a gallon and some Dunkin' on the way in.  I'll be there early for the OJT as well.  I have a new instrument panel I need to throw in.

Hey Marshall,

I didn't get the PM, may not have RSVP'd though. Please let me know if I can bring anything. I have tools I can loan out as well if anyone needs something. Clay, I want my Vise Grip back!

Cheers,

Dan

Half as old as my first car and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I can treat her to some clothes.  '02 parts hidden in the bottom of the bag may provoke  more spending...

I'll be bringing Coffee and something homemade.

That store has been a sort of "2002 shipping and receiving" location..both FedEx and UPS deliver and pick up on a regular basis.

Great day to get together!  filled front yard with 02s!  about a dozen in all, with copious amount of coffee, bagels, donut's, OJ,  Matthew's muffins and Carrie's cinnamon rolls.  Thanks to all who came by!  Daron won for "furthest drive" coming from Norfolk.

Bunch of pics..sorry they are bad.  I am not qualified to operate wife's camera and they ended up a bit washed out.  Argh.

Looks like it was a great day. Between working in the AM and getting the E28 ready for my son to take to school I was stuck here. Hope to make it another time.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,
