Guest Anonymous
Any body have this happen to them? Here's what has changed recently that might have had an impact: Installed Eibachs Springs, and Bilstein HDs Replaced old, cracked strut bearing part with new one (euro version with shorter studs) The caps do touch the insulation on the hood, but they did before. I removed the spacers soon after I bought the car. The top of the shaft on the strut insert touches the dust cover, wearas the stock one did not. Should this happen? Should I just buy a new set of the caps, and hope it was because the old ones were worn out, and less flexible than new? -Matt '73 Charmonix 2002
Guest Anonymous
yup mine cracked too, I think bilsteins have a taller center bolt, the one you stick an allen key into while you tighten the top nut
