A/c Unit Wanted

Recommended Posts

There was no original BMW A/C for '02s: all '02 A/C was designed after the cars were designed and was dealer installed (or owner installed). That said, three common systems were produced by Behr, Frigiking, and Clardy. Behr is the German company which made, and still makes, radiators, heaters, heater valves, etc. for BMWs, so it will look the most "original." That said, it may or may not be the best system in terms of cold air output.

There are dozens of excellent threads on this forum that describe many different approaches to putting A/C in '02s. Use the search function.

Good luck with your project,

EDIT: By the way, don't expect '02 A/C to perform like the A/C in a modern car, or even that in a '72 Impala. It's addition after the cars' manufacture -- pretty much limited to the center console -- means its capacity and distribution are marginal.
