Dome Light Supervision And Trunk Actuator: Relay Wiring Questions

I almost completely my wiring of a Python 350HV alarm system.  I'm eager to clean up the wiring mess and bundle everything up (looks like a rat's nest).  Question on last two alarm install items for my 1976 2002:

Dome light supervision

The attachment labeled “dome light supervision” shows what the alarm manual is advising in terms of wiring up an additional relay to support this feature.  In the relay wiring diagram, the upper right box attached to pin 87 says “Dome light supervision polarity”.  Is this synonymous with the door trigger wire?  I believe it is.

Trunk actuator wiring

The attachment labeled “trunk actuator” shows the top right most wire going into pin 87.  I am unclear about the language here and whether or not to ground this wire or connect it to a +12v constant source.  FYI, I bought and going to wire in Cal’s actuator kit

Any wiring help would be great.  Pat Allen, where are you? :)

Is your trunk release triggered by a positive or ground wire? it is probably a positive triggered system so you would supply positive power to terminal 87, if it is a ground triggered system then you would connect 87 to ground.

The trunk release is probably a fairly high draw so make sure you use an adequate gauge wire.

The domelight supervision polarity is ground, connect it to a ground (any old ground)

The domelight wire connection would go to the back of the door switch on the side leading to the domelight (after the switch)

Funky,

Thanks for the reply.  Yes, I do believe it will be positively triggered, so I'll give it a go on connecting positive to 87.

I wouldn't have guessed about grounding the domelight supervision.  THANK YOU.  I'll ground it.

Thanks for the advice on the domelight wire after the switch.

I'll give it a shot this weekend...while lamenting the body damage that I sustained this Monday

Oh just one correction: I have a Viper not a Python alarm system, though I think they are all made by DEI. Viper, Python, Cobra, garter snake, etc. :) VIper 3305V for anyone whose tracking this thread.

Well after a full week straight of dealing w/ the car accident BS, I finally had time to finish this up. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get the dome light supervision to work. The light just stayed on. To make matters worse, I broke a tab on one end with my melon as I was coming out of the vehicle. GRRRRRRRRR. Can't a brother catch a break this week???

I did get the trunk actuator working though! This is the kit that Cal Warnecke built and put together. Wow, talk about addressing one of the biggest pain in the arses about our 02s! When I bought my 02 about 2 years ago, that one was one the things I was shaking my head about. I'll link the review later. But anyways Funky you were 100% that the connection I was not sure about was 12 volt positive. I ended up joining it with another pin that needed 12v constant to it. So for the record (redrawn for simplicity):
