This is the oddest car sale I have ever experienced.

Aside from ebay, where I had 5 bidders with a max bid of $3200, I have only had ONE inquiry (a member of this site). No craigslist, no Autotrader, no on board For Sale sign (which just lists a phone number), no FB inquiry....nothing....nada.....zip.

Fortunately, I don't have to sell and it's getting to the napping season anyway.

But damn, no interest in a pretty nice near original, straight, light rust, available matching number engine, low mileage 2 owner vehicle, is mind boggling.

I welcome all comments.

Cheers!!

Well.........I would, if I could, but I can't. I love NKs! Never owned one, but I've always had a soft spot for them. I really like your car.

But, with this crappy economy and no prospects for meaningful improvement, all I can do is wish you the best of luck with finding it a new home.

I like it. I have a soft spot for NK's. But I knew I would want to paint it and I'm deep in another project. I hope you find a good home for it.

It's wierd

the car should be worth 10K over here by the looks of it

nice driveble rare car, you would be hard pushed to find 2 more in the US I think

if there are more then 30 still driving around in the world I would be very surprised, in 1996 there were only 27 left in Germany and that is probably less than 15 at the moment. There are 3 in Holland registered right now, 2 driveble (mine and  another white one in Amsterdam) and the 3rd is just papers.

There are 5 in france I know of but that is about it. Now and then one does come out of the woodworkover there, but 30 is about it I would say.

So probabely rarer than the Tisa. Just hang on to it, you'll be laughing in 10 years time

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,
