Center Console Mounting Brakets?

Recommended Posts

So I bought center console side panels and have attracted then to my shift plate but the panels didn't come with any other brackets or mounts. Am I right in believing I'm missing something? Can anyone post or link me to pics of what it is I will need to fabricate?

Thanks!

Short or long console?  If the former, there should be a small mounting ear on the back edge of the console (closest to the shifter), and a corresponding hole in the floor of the storage cubby.  You should also find a screw hole in the tranny tunnel corresponding to this bracket.  It only takes a single screw to hole it in place as it's wedged between the floor and the underside of the dash, and against the heater box to the front.

Long consoles, I belive have similar brackets, but since my '73 has a Fridgiking A/C console, the mountings are completely different.  I belive the long console has mounting ears on the trailing edge of the console under the panel that holds the shift boot.  I'm sure someone will chime in with a long console mounting procedure.

cheers
