Seatbelt Box Digital Gauges

Hello all,

I have 10 sets of Digital oil pressure and temp gauges that are set into the seatbelt warning boxes found on late model 2002's, e12, e21, early e30, etc. Measurements are in Bar for pressure and Centegrade for temp. The 'brain box' can be mounted pretty much anywhere under the dash(the length of the wires from the brain are approx 30"), with easy to use quick releases. All wires are tagged for easy install. The kit includes the following:

One modified seatbelt warning box

One Brain box

Brown wire to Oil Pressure sender

Gray wire to Oil Temp sender

You will need to purchase your own senders. The kit does not include them. In my car i am using the e30 m3 temp sender and a VDO oil press sender 360-023.

The price is $225.00 for the kit, with $10.00 from each sale going to the FAQ. Shipping will be actual rate, and will be sent USPS.

There is a core charge of $25.00 for the seatbelt box.

I have 10 sets, and will be bringing them to the 02 Swap and Show this Saturday.

The last picture shows the old style display foil, which looks slightly gray. This was the prototype. The new style is black, and is much easier to read. The best part about these gauges is the placement; always easy to see with a quick glance!

I can also provide digital gauges for e30, 24,28,23, that mount into the instrument cluster.

Thanks for looking,

Bob Newman

agree!  this is WAY better than the guage panels at the bottom of the center console.  and i imagine the "oil temperature" readout could be used for water temp instead if someone wanted to measure that.

Very cool setup! Is it possible to have the temp read outside temp, or is this only for the sender you recommend?

Very cool indeed.

Clay, Marshall, and Frank, thanks for the positive comments!

Frank, the gauges would be compatable with an ambient temp sensor. Probably something like an 80's ambient temp sensor found in cars with an OBC.

Marshall, water temp could be substituted in place of oil temp. Boxes could be custom/special ordered, but it will take a little time. All gauges are made in Germany.

Here's a pic of the set we made for my e36.

 Thanks again,

 Bob

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
