I just installed mine this past weekend that I got recovered by Chris Willit at Only02. I am VERY impressed with the workmanship. Will take some photos in the next couple of days and post them up.

Good to know. I didn't see pricing on their website. Do you mind sharing how much it cost? did you provide a core?

You don't say what year your car is.  If you have a 3-pc dash, I have an upper section from a '68 in mint condition for sale.  Not re-done, original and still soft.  Contact me if interested.  **I also have the cluster cover and lower section of the Euro-style dash to go with it, also in near-mint shape.

My car is a 72.I have a beautiful  recovered dash which is a very early(68- 70?) euro 3 piece.the bottom piece is the one that uses the chrome pieces in the dash underside.I was going to use it but  I think it would not look proper in my car.I have a 2 piece i would like to recover.Strangely the top piece is in better shape than the bottom.

I had Chris at Only02 recover my dash...just like Grover said I too am VERY impressed with the workmanship. I just had him recover my custom console to match and the pics he sent me of the finished product were amazing. I'll be checking the tracking status every 5 min until it gets here. His turn around time is quick provided he doesn't have a lot of work backed up. He also runs a service shop, so he is a busy guy. Worth the wait though! You can easily contact him at chris@sincitybmw.com  (Sin City BMW is his new shop). Tell him Greg sent you.

BTW: If anyone is going to Vintage...I'll be there and you can check out my dash (along with my console provided it arrives in time for me to install - fingers crossed!)

Papagallo: My early 67 uses this type of dash. I'm looking for an extra if you'd consider parting with it. I think I have a few two piece dashes in storage that i could trade if you needed one. send me a message.

sorry! Thread jack over.

Here are some photos of the re-covered dash that Chris at Only02 did for me. I know some folks don't care for the French seams, but I'm really happy with it, and am quite impressed with the workmanship. I also recently put in nice fresh wool square weave carpet which I'm loving.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
