I was replacing my door stops yesterday and found this (along with some othe miscelaneous things-chop sticks??) loose in the bottom of the passenger door. I looked w in the Hayes manual and can't seem to place where it came from. Everything in the door seems to work properly. Any ideas?

Funny, I found the same thing in my door a few weeks ago. The window works fine, so I guess it was replaced a while back. Or can the regulator operate well without this spring?

Thanks. That's what I thought, but it does function well. Must be left over. Hopefully this also solves the rattle issue I've had in that door. :)

It also looks remarkably like the rear seat return spring (in the hinge assembly) from a 320i Recaro seat. Are these possibly the same part?
