Side window vent -- Leakage

OK. Here is my problem then. When I got my 02 from the PO, the passenger side vent window was broken. The shaft at the bottom of the window was snapped.

I replaced the window by simply prying it up and out and popping in a replacement. Now, I cannot get the window to fully close with the surrounding seal and as a result get some leakage.

Should I just do the job right by putting in a replacement frame and window or is there another fix?

those on are convertibles use different (and fixed) vent windows, tourings use different vent window frames and glass from either the sedans or the convertibles, and 1502s have fixed vent windows. None of these were officially imported into the US...
