Fellow FAQr’s:

WILL NOT PART

Please read through entire post before jumping to ask questions. Comes with a lot more parts than listed as I have boxes full of little bits I'll throw in.

I picked up this car with all the intent to make a neat little old timer 3 series, but that idea has been replaced by everything else. It is an early production first generation 2.0L 4/Spd. Non-sunroof e21 with all the unique stuff not seen on the later models. Includes all the sport options (minus LSD) and has had the motor R&R’d and ran up to just recently when the spark gave out. Has fresh fluids all around and is relatively clean and solid. Minor blemishes like a door ding, scratches, and a quarter sized surface rust bubble.

Pictures are of it when in storage so it is very dusty and does not show the car in its glory.

Stock Features:

Newer original Schwarz paint

Large spindle vented front brakes (hubs & rotors fit tii struts)

Sport BBS 13” wheels

13x50x205 tires with a lot of tread

Sport 3-spoke wheel w/leather

Front enduro spoiler

Bosch Driving lights

Large Tool kit (missing most tools)

Recaro bucket seats

Dual Mirrors

Rear sway bar

Intact and working SMOG equipment.

Optional Features: Included

Have a 5 speed conversion “kit” everything you will need for this car w/pattern knob, 3:90 diff and shaft too.

Zender rear deck spoiler (not installed)

Zender rocker panel skirts (not installed)

Pertronics dist. (not installed)

Rear mounted battery box

VDO console gauges

Rear headrests

6 disc CD changer trunk mount

Radio head unit and speakers

MOMO hub and steering wheel (needs leather)

Stahl long tube header (not installed)

Upgrades Installed:

Late model front subframe; better suspension travel and parts availability.

New urethane backed lower control arms.

Issues:

NOT running presently as the spark is absent. Has minor weep in heater valve, but have replacement part . fiddly bits here and there need to be addressed. Fuel pump relay jumped, may be related to spark issue. Title has $100 back fee.

email me with your contact info at conkitchen@aol.com and I'l get right back to you. Car is in northern CA.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
