Do you mean E21 0r E12? Here are some diagrams of an E21 Front subframe and an E10 (2002) front subframe and an E12...

The E21 is the third one down.. the E12 is the first the answer to your question is... no.

The 121 chassis is referred to as type 121, which are the 2000C and 2000CS coupes. They do not have a E designation. The round taillight 2002s are type 114 chassis while the square light ones are E10....

That said, yes the 2002 front subframe is a direct bolt in in place of the original. But with a some minor differences... You will need '69 and later 2000 sedan motor mount brackets and 2002 motor mounts. The brackets have been NLA for a very long time and currently no one I know of is making any.

Cheers and Hope This Helps,

Great information! Do all of the 2000 sedans have the same motor mount configuration ?

So if I want to swap an 02 subframe into my 2000 coupe it should work as long as I have the motor mount brackets from a 68 69 and later 2000 or any 2000?

Yes Rey, motor mount brackets from any '69 and later NK sedan will work. I have a few sets and have tried to get a fabricator friend to copy them but it's a back burner project for him...

Using the '02 subframe also gets you the available idler arm bushings rather than the admittedly better quality but long NLA idler needle bearing setup.

I'll pull the part numbers up later today... And Rey, I'll reply to your email as well....

I am using a 2002 subframe in my NK and made up a few sets of mounts that will enable the motor to sit in the original early NK location. Essentially the motor sits 3.5 inches further forward on the subframe. In the below pictures the top mounts are original late NK mounts for use with the 02 style subframe

Rey You guys and your shop should have no problem making them up

Mine are on the bottom. The left is almost a mirror image of the 02 mount and is made out of angle with a leg welded on. For the right side mount I modified an 02 mount by relocating holes and adding a stiffener plate.

Joe ONeil has a set of mine I sent him after our fun trip out there last August

Those look really nice! Nice job!

So many cars have the old subframes.

It's great to have an alternative for the NK owners!! Cant wait to see your car on the road!
