Front Wheel Studs (screw-in or press in)

OK,

I was under the impression that the front wheel studs on 2002tii's (2763495 coming up on her 40th birthday on Feb 20th) are screw-ins and press in's on the back.

After twisting off stud on the front, I tried screwing it out with little luck. A smack with a hammer to loosen it up only pushed it in a little. Time to pull it all apart.

Yup, press ins. Is this normal? It didn't look like it was threaded and someone forced a press-in stud in.

Is this the right hub, or id the hub get swapped out at one point in the past?

THanks in advance

Allan

you probably got the screw in impression from the folks that have changed their brakes to vented disks. that requires 320i hubs...which use screw in studs.
