My friend has decided to let go of a massive amount of 2002 parts he has been collecting for over 30 years. He races a 2002 and owns three early 2002. I will be posting a few pieces each week. I will be starting with some of the older stuff and some wheels. If you have a need for used EARLY 2002 stuff let me know..He has already disposed of 1500 LBS of stuff so I wanna start getting his collection out on the FAQ before it is scrapped. SO BE ON THE LOOK OUT in the "For Sale" section. It will be under my user name.

My family just purchased a place in Clermont....I was there for a week after thanksgiving for the PRI show. I will be there a few weeks in Feb/March as well. Any chance to see stuff or pick up local there?

I hope to bring my 02 to the house there if I trust it to make the drive from Gainesville.

Sorry guys, My Email was on my profile but now it is gone..Strange

Gregwgc@yahoo.com.

Please email me a list of your needs so it is easy to look for what you need. also put your location.

I will get back to you within 7 days. The parts are an hour from my house so I will be going once a week to check inventory. Also, he has a few Coupe and Bavaria parts.

Most parts will be mechanical..Bumpers and body parts have been used up over the many years of racing and He is keeping the few he has left for the restoration of his 70 track car. He does have a 73tii (red) non sunroof. with a late nose. complete sitting on a trailer with some rust issues he may part with as is for a fair price.

you teased everyone with insinuations of a motherload of parts. unless you want to respond to an endless stream of "do you have a......" questions, suggest you just list what he has or post pics of the lot to control expectations and save hassle.

just a thought.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
