Any suggestions for aluminum cleaner?

Don't want to polish, just clean up rough cast aluminum parts such as the valve cover, dipstick holder (early cars), intake manifold etc that have turned grey and get 'em back nice and silvery again.

Tried bare aluminum wheel cleaner, tomato juice etc...

your favorite cleaner used with a small, stiff metal brush...

Mike--I have used Mothers Mag&Aluminum polish for general clean up and English Custom Polish for a shinier end result (mostly on wheels). Don't exactly know what would work for just removing the oxidation without some polishing. I also use bead blasting to restore raw aluminum surfaces such as valve covers.

bead blaster , brake cleaning fluid (if you don't mind killing brain cells)
