I have owned the car for six years. It has served as a storage for car parts in the garage, for most of the time. Because of other projects.

At last, I have time for this.

Result will be something between a "race car" and "powerful cruising car"

I will make decisions as I feel myself to be the best. Of course, applying to take ideas from elsewhere.. certainly not to make all the cliché-decisions, as is often done today..

I have a lot of ideas, perhaps too much so.

For example, some day i will change the color to a more conservative. (white, cream or silver, or something like that)

Right now, priority No.1 is to complete the Stage 1, and get this on the streets in the next summer.

Some specs:

-M10B20 with E21 2.0 head, Mahle flat tops, megasquirt management with direct ignition, Master Power T03/T04. Fully rebuilded engine. Still trying to find some camshaft for this combo, Schrick 304 or something like that...

-Gearbox E28 260/5.

-E21 323i rear trailing arms

-E21 323i brakes around the car + Volvo 4-pot calipers on the front.

-22/24 mm swaybars

-all bushings superflex polyurethane

-Spax adjustable shocks

-front strut modified to height-adjustable

-Universal air Aerosport airbags in place of front coil springs

-Slam specialities SS-5 airbagd in place of rear coil springs

Thanks guys

Hi Toni,

your car looks like a very good place to start. I like the door mirrors, what brand are they?

Mirrors are some kind of replicas from 70`s sport mirror. Bought from Swedish spare parts dealer Biltema. They are cheap, 15eur/per mirror.

And yes, they are good looking mirrors but very small.

Welcome on board :) I'm sure you're getting many fans here with your project.

Is there any problem keeping the air ride system street legal in Finland?

Tommy

Car will be street legal if everything is done properly and showed to the "car inspection authorities" (i don`t know what is the correct word for that).

Vette wheels are 8,5x16" ET32 with 15 and 20mm adapters. I´m not sure if they are way too big for this car, because i can´t find tyres for them with a small enough diameter. But i still have them in garage.

Some interior plans:

Fishnet Recaro seats + E24 rear seats..

..upholstered with recaro fabric and black leather.

I would like to use that fabric for the door panels also, in some way.. Opinions how?

Great work!! Would like to know more about the "direct-ignition" set up you have. I did the same 323 trailing arms but went with an E30 caliper for greater selection of brake pads.

Looks like you welded the revise drive shaf to the sub frame, any additional pics to show what really was done?

Looking forward to more updates.

Justin

The question is not that we broke a few rules or took certain liberties with our female guests.

We did ;)

I'm also very curious what you are doing with your injection as well. I'm planning on using an e21 head on the 02 bottom end for fuel injection. did you do any photos of that install?

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
