Megasquirt wiring question

Cable shielding is grounded ony at one end of the cable

unless you're a vidiot...

heh

What does this mean? Many who don't know about shielding cables want to connect the shield at both ends to semething. In this case the shield is not grounded at the sensor but is connected thru any connectors back to an area that has a ground available. It could be grounded at either end. Just trying to help the guy out, which he does need because of the follow-up question what the "loop" was for. And it is the schematic representation that all the leads within the loop are to be within the shield.

A radiator shop is a good place to take a leak.

I have no idea what I'm doing but I know I'm really good at it.

Thanks for all the input! I would have tried to ground it probably on both ends. I am new to wiring but am slowly learning!

I am a couple years behind you guys.

Not sure if I can make mid America or make the drive to vintage. One more year down.

What exactly is PIN 7? It is the loop around the shielded wire. What connects to it? I am new to this obviously... could not find it in the search

To make things real simple: take the shields from both cables coming to and going from the controller and attach them to the #7 wire coming out of the plug. Attach a jumper from that #7 wire to #10 wire. Run that black wire from #10 wire on the plug to the manifold ground connection I told you about in my earlier post You do not need to do any other connections from the shield wires to ground.

Found that actual cable on eBay. They sell it in 10 foot sections.

You can buy the cable at Radio Shack. You might also try Home Depot. No kidding.

No amount of skill or education will ever replace dumb luck

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
