This whole anonymous bulletin board of wanna be, passive aggressive just not constructive and serves to create to much political, false noise.

Les, Andrew, Paul, Nick... he making a point about your behavior "online" . In person maybe you have it in check... who knows, who really cares

BMW 2002's good.... creating junior high school noise in name of a car is ridiculous

I'm on tx2002 as well but I figured I'd post here. Anyone got an interesting running project that they are looking to offload? I assumed it'd be easier to post in our texas section!

Hey wizzurp, what kind of 02 are you seeking? Glenn in Whitesboro probably still has some 02s he wants to liberate. He did the last I talked to him. Drop me a message above and I'll give you his contact info (not trying to hoard it, but I don't know if he wants his phone number posted here).

I've been trying to sell his fjord square tail for like two years now. Not that I'm getting a commission or anything, but it's such a solid car that I need to find it another owner before I decide to expand my fleet.

Off the top of my head, I don't know of any other 02s for sale locally, though.

I was hoping for a clean roundie like my last one but I picked up a different project already as I stated. I'm building a turbo miata for road course/autox :) I'll remain on tx2002 just because I like seeing what others are up to and I might want another 02 after I finish this!

I appreciate your help!

So, why are you anonymous?

Feel free to email me, via the 'button" above, if you would like to elaborate and enter a meaningful correspondence.

What we should all be doing is thanking Marc for getting us invloved in the LSC drives. As a TX2002 we almost NEVER did anything...it was never a club, like Andrew said it was a ersource group we were all part of. Over the years I gave away dozens of parts for FREE. As has Ken, Chris, Paul and others.

Chris blew his cool when I was asked by Marc to help get more vintage cars involved in the drives. I am assuming there was some invisible line that was crossed. It was never a technical job nor trying to overthrow TX2002. Just all that drama that went down sounds more like Real Housewives than guys with cars.

Paul Andrew and Les have always been the same whether online or in person as have I.

Chris was always a good guy and I always thought highly of him, he helped me out with a down tube for my sons car when I was in a time bind. To bad things went down the way they did. Can't turn back time so best to move forward. TX2002 group is still alive and well. Same people that participated still do

I'm not as dumb as I look

Good lord guys, chill out. It's the internet and people like to talk. This thread wasn't meant to sling blame, I was just wanting to pick up a project locally, I ended up with a miata. I will continue to follow tx2002 regardless of my ownership status.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
