rtv gasket removal

I am trying to replace some seals in my getrag 245 five speed transmission on the workbench prior to my transmission swap project. The housing covering the front seal has been "glued on" with RTV gasket material.

Is there a good way to free up parts that are fused together with RTV?

I use a "deadblow" hammer and tap the housing from alternate sides. G

Rubber mallet or a metal hammer with a piece of wood as buffer.
