Intake manifold coolant routing question

Recommended Posts

Hi there, i have a question about the hoses that run into the intake manifold. I would like to re-route them as to skip the manifold entirely.

So here it is:

1.Can I run the hose that exits from under intake valve four into the back of the y-pipe on the head?

2. Can I run the hose from the heater core directly back to the the L-Bend on the waterpump?

Has anyone else done this? Any suggestions? Thanks!

On No 2, Guaranteed Carburetor icing if the manifold is not heated. The water from the head outlet to the manifold and from the manifold forward side to the pump runs all the time for heating. It can ice even in summer.

A radiator shop is a good place to take a leak.

I have no idea what I'm doing but I know I'm really good at it.
