Blower switch knob - how to remove?

OK - whats the trick with this?

I have a replacement heater switch - 3 speed - how does the knob come off?

I dont want to break it...

Very carefully prey the aluminum cover with the fan symbol from the plastic knob, and you will find a threaded shaf with the securing nut.

With the battery disconnected, pull out the switch so you can hold the shaft with a pair of pliers, and then the knob will unscrew from the shaft counterclockwise. With the knob off, the slotted cover that hold the switch onto the dash can be unscrewed from body of the switch

On the later cars, it won't. It's 'half- mooned' to hold itself in place.

You'll destroy it that way. Ask those who've found out the hard way!

Ya gotta pull the cap, remove the nut, then pull the knob.

It's the only one that's that way.

On the earlier cars, yup, all 3 unscrew.
