Nice pics! Thanks for sharing.

I lived in Germany in the 60's. Interesting how the employee "uniforms" look exactly like the street clothes I remember. Diggin the "safety sandals" she is wearing.

The shot with all the engines is my favorite.

Those 2 gents working on the 4 door NK look all business and 2nd from last photo, lady with smile on her face, she knows it's kuchen break soon!!

Thanks CD. I toured the factory in 1974 and they wouldn't let us take any pictures. You can tell that the engines are the early ones by the single barrel carbs and the 6 bolt type clutches. G

as they don't have side reflectors (or the holes for 'em) and most of the photos are dated Sept '68, so US-bound cars would have reflectors.

Back then BMW built US spec cars in batches on the assembly line due to the significant number of different parts; I'm also given to understand that sunroof cars were built in batches too...
