Alright, so I think I am finaly at the end of my record breaking adventure of putting on sidedrafts. One last thing I need to fix (i hope its the last). While driving and decelerating the carbs will make a cough sound. I have the idle screws out 2.5 turns, could they need 3? Or is it something else?

Once I get this done i'll post about my long ass adventure and some info I have learned about DCOM's.

Thanks,

Bryan

what size are your idle jets? what about your main, air, emulsion tube, main choke, aux venturi, pump jet and needle valve?

it sounds like you need larger idle jets. turn one idle mixture clockwise all the way to close position and you should have a lower idle then turn it counter clockwise slowly till you get the highest idle, then stop. now do the same thing to the other 3 idle mixture screws. and if you still backfire or idle you need larger idle jets and maybe advance your timing too a little bit.
